While beginning their career as a freelance copywriter, Maza observed that quality copy required thoughtful design. They quickly became a self-taught designer, working in Squarespace, CSS, and Sketch. Their brand, The Magma Lab, sought to "build great products on solid foundations." Eventually, after years of observing clients' needs and struggles, Maza invested time to wax poetic about theories regarding growth strategy, marketing, and branding, earning an MBA online in 2019.

The Visionfairy has served as Maza's "personal," NSFW brand (versus its concurrent, "professional" brand, The Magma Lab) since the early 2010s.

Maza believes that in order to build/pivot the best product/organization, or to reach an optimal outcome, you must first crystalize "a vision," i.e. invest genuine time in identifying/producing a tangible, measurable, strategic goal, i.e. exercise one's imagination! (See the Green New Now for inspo!)

While identifying as an artist, writer, and activist, Maza also identifies as a consultant specializing in "the art of strategic decision-making," whether in the context of marketing, branding, operations, design, content, or justice organizing.

This high-fidelity website mockup attempts to reimagine Hand in Hand's brand identity. Hand in Hand is a national non-profit working to educate people about the care crisis and organize for the legislative change necessary to provide domestic workers with the same rights as other workers. If we all know people who clean our homes, take care of our children, help our elderly grandparents, and/or assist our disabled neighbors or ourselves, we are all implicated in perpetuating this antiquated, historically racist, labor rights loophole that is catalyze the most massive economic shift in America.
